Your Maps public profile lets you showcase your photos, reviews, lists, and other Maps content. On your Maps profile, you can:
- Change your Google name andprofile photo.
- Add a short bioto your profile.
- Manage youraccount settings and privacy controls.
- Find your past contributions and posts.
- Find the views and likes on your contributions.
- Review your topic stats.
Tip: Your name, photo, and bio will always be found on your profile.
Change your name & photo
Your name and photo appear at the top of your Maps profile.
To change your name and photo:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap ContributeViewyour profileEdit profileEdit name & photo.
- Enter your name or choose a photo.
- Tap Save.
Important:When you change your name and photo, the change is reflected across all Google products that you use.
Add or edit your bio
Add a short bio to your public profile to tell others about yourself and the places you care about.
Tip: Your bio is visible to everyone, even if yourcontributions are hidden on your profile.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap ContributeViewyour profileEdit profile.
- Write your bio (up to 200 characters).
- Tap Save.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap ContributeViewyour profileEdit profile.
- Edit your bio.
- Tap Save.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap ContributeViewyour profileEdit profile.
- Delete your bio.
- Tap Save.
View Local Guide level, points, and badges
If you're a Local Guide,you can view your level, points, and badges in the Google Maps app.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
- Tap ContributeViewyour profile.
- Under your name, view your local guide level and points. Tap the arrowto view your badges and number of contributions.
About topic chips
Topic chips are based on what you publicly write about on Maps. They are displayed to help you find people that frequently review topics of interest. Topic chips can be based on cuisine, dishes, or other places you've written about.
Tip: You can use topic chips to filter a contributor's review and photos.
