Is the Ultima Blade good in ff12? ›

Answers. The weapons with elements on them are best used against enemies with that elemental weakness. Short of that, non-elemental weapons like the Ultima Blade are more beneficial because it doesn't need to be used on a specific enemy to do reasonable damage.

Players can challenge Ultima starting around level 75, but it will be difficult. To make the fight against Ultima easier, players should go in with a level in the 90s. Level 91 is comfortable, and there's no need for the best equipment.

Strategy. It is recommended for the main party members to be at least level 55 or above; level 40 or above for back-up characters. It is helpful to have three White Masks, or a Sage's Ring, to absorb Ultima's Holyja attack. The player should stock Ethers and curative items before the fight.

The Ultima Blade is a high-rank greatsword that provides 118 Attack, 7% Combo Rate, and +10 Evade. All greatswords have 2.47s charge, and 1.2s action time, making them average when it comes to attacking speed.

The Durandal is a weapon in Final Fantasy XII. It is the strongest one-handed sword in the original version, and only obtained as the Well-forged Blade in the Bazaar. In the Zodiac version, the Well-forged Blade is instead the upgraded Durandal, the Simha.

The numbers you get in the FAQs are the 'ideal' amount; the balance between saving your Gil and not having to constantly reset hoping to get more of the item.

Ultima Weapon is a pretty effective weapon at level 50 or so, providing you get two. Terra was able to break out over 10k damage vs. Kaiser thanks to it without Master's Scroll, which is noteworthy cause her magic caps at 9999 unless using Soul of Thamasa which there's only one.
