Is a better route planner worth it? ›

A Better Routeplanner Review. Users appreciate that ABRP provides accurate and detailed routes, considering factors like charger locations, elevation changes, and more. It is useful for planning long trips like cross-country trips with ease.

I've found it to be pretty accurate, and maybe just a bit conservative. I've never used it on trips that needed a charge, but I have used it in various weather and road conditions, and with significant elevation changes (+/- 5000 ft), and that ran it down to approximately 10-15%.

The basic ABRP features will always be free. However, you can get many more benefits from the planner by upgrading to Premium! You already have an active ABRP subscription with Apple. Go to your Apple account settings to manage that.

While the route planner generally provides reliable estimations and suggestions, it's important to understand the factors that can affect its accuracy. As mentioned earlier, charging times can vary based on several factors, such as battery level, temperature, and charging station usage.

Using the same test list of 20 stops for each Android app, this is what we found: Any route planner is better than using Google Maps and trying to DIY an efficient route. Route4Me produced by far the shortest route. Circuit and RoadWarrior gave similar results; MapQuest and HERE WeGo were also pretty similar.

Can I leave my Tesla unplugged for a week? Make sure it's reasonably charged and leave sentry mode off. It should be good for a couple of months. If you forget and leave sentry mode on, you should still be ok for a week, but you'll need to stop for a charge within 40–50 miles.

Your Tesla vehicle is designed to maintain its battery over time, and will not overcharge when plugged in for an extended period. For that reason, when you're away from home, we always recommend leaving your vehicle plugged in.

ABRP is way conservative to start with and the reference consumption for your car is 417Wh/mi which is too high as well. Reducing the reference consumption to 350Wh/mi helps.
