You’ve probably used Google Maps to look up directions before, but did you know you can create your own custom map within it? The possibilities for customization are almost endless, and it’s a great way to easily organize and view your favorite locations on one map.
Open Google Maps and click the menu button in the top left corner.
Click Your Places > Maps > Create Map.
Name your map and enter in a description.
Add markers for your desired locations. You can label these markers, add descriptions, change the color or shape, and add an image.
You can add walking, biking, or driving paths between two destinations.
You canalso add additional layers by clicking on the Add Layer Button.This is useful if you’re creating a very dense map with lots of features and paths.
Open Google My Maps: Go to Sign in - Google Accounts and sign in to your Google account. Create a new map: Click the "Create a new map" button to start a new map. Import data: In the left-side panel, click the "Import" button. Choose a file: Select the file you want to import, which can be in KML, KMZ, or CSV format.
click the name of the place. Under “Questions & Answers,” select “See more questions.” Next to the question, tap the Answer bubble to respond to the question. You have the option to edit or delete your answer. Next to your answer, click the “More” three-dot menu and choose to Edit or Delete your question.
However, if the icon is grey and remains stationary, it indicates that the location data is no longer being updated, suggesting that the person has stopped sharing their location with you [1].
Satellites: Google Maps uses satellite imagery to create detailed maps of the world. Satellites orbiting the earth capture high-resolution images of the surface, which are then stitched together to create a complete map of an area.
Dynamic map which is an interactive object. The user can freely pan, zoom or switch map layers. A web page or application displays a map using JavaScript. Static map which is just an image added to the webpage with simple HTML. It is not interactive, which means no panning, zooming or changing map layers.
In the Google Cloud Console, go to Map Styles, and select a project, if needed. In Map Styles, select Create Style. At the bottom, select Open in Style Editor. Select map features and change their style to create the map style you want.
You can create a map in Google Maps using My Maps in order to save a custom map for later use. Your custom maps can be shared in My Maps, which you can log into with your Google account on multiple devices. You can also edit your maps to change the route or add stops.
