You can use apps that you bought on Google Play on any Android device without the need to pay again. Each device must be signed in to the same Google Account. Learn how to sync apps across devices.

You can also reinstall an app that you bought but deleted.

Reinstall apps or turn apps back on

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Play Store Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (1).
  2. At the right, tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Manage apps and device Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (2) Manage.
  4. Select the apps that you want to install or turn on.
    • If you can't find the app, at the top, tap This device Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (3) Not installed.
  5. Tap Install or Enable.

Troubleshooting steps

If you can't reinstall apps, try the steps below.

Uninstall and reinstall Google Play Store updates

To uninstall Play Store app updates:

  1. On your device's home or app screen, find the Google Play Store app.
  2. Touch and hold the Google Play Store app Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (4).
  3. Tap App info.
  4. At the top right, tap More Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (5) Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (6) Uninstall updates.
  5. Review the info and tap OK.

To reinstall Play Store app updates:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (7).
  2. At the top right, tap the profile picture.
  3. Tap Settings Reinstall and re-enable apps - Android (8) About.
  4. Under 'Play Store version', tap Update Play Store.

Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Store

Important:

  • Clearing the cache from the Google Play Store is the most common solutionto issues when you download apps from Google Play Store.
  • When you clear the cache and data, it may delete some settings on the Google Play Store app, such as parental controls and password protection. It will ask you to agree to the Terms of Service again the next time you open the Google Play Store.
  1. Find the Google Play Store app on your device's home or app screen.
  2. Touch and hold the Google Play Store app.

Find previously purchased or downloaded apps
