WHAT DO I NEED TO ORDER PRESCRIPTION EYEGLASSES ON COSTCO.COM?

To order prescription eyeglasses on Costco.com, you will need the following:

  • A valid prescription which should include the doctor’s information, date of the exam, the doctor’s signature, and pupillary distance.
  • An active Costco membership.
  • A Costco.com account, which includes an email address and unique password that matches the name the eyeglasses are for. If you do not have an individual account, you can create one using the same membership number.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY PRESCRIPTION?

There are multiple ways to submit your eyeglass prescription. Here are the three options:

  1. Upload the prescription as a PDF, JPEG, or PNG when submitting the order.
  2. An existing member who has ordered prescription eyeglasses on Costco.com in the past can use their on-file prescription by selecting ’Select from my Account’ when asked to provide a prescription during the ordering process.
  3. Upload the prescription within 5 days of the order being placed.

Costco cannot start manufacturing the eyeglasses without a valid prescription. If a valid prescription and Pupillary Distance is not uploaded within 5 days of the order being placed, the order will be automatically canceled. Three reminder emails will be sent over the course of 5 days from the time of order with instructions to add your Pupillary Distance and/or upload your prescription.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE PRESCRIPTION?

Each pair of eyeglasses will prompt the option to upload its own prescription. If there have been previous orders for prescription eyeglasses on Costco.com, sign into your Costco.com account and select a saved prescription (if it is still valid).

HOW DO I FIND MY PUPILLARY DISTANCE (PD)?

The Pupillary Distance is the distance between the center of each pupil and it is required to manufacture the lenses. The Pupillary Distance can be obtained two ways:

  1. Use the Virtual Try On tool and the Pupillary Distance will automatically be added to the order.
  2. The Pupillary Distance may be listed on your prescription.

Costco cannot start manufacturing the eyeglasses without a valid prescription. If a valid prescription and Pupillary Distance is not uploaded within 5 days of the order being placed, the order will be automatically canceled. Three reminder emails will be sent over the course of 5 days from the time of order with instructions to add your Pupillary Distance and/or upload your prescription.

CAN I ORDER MORE THAN ONE PAIR OF PRESCRIPTION EYEGLASSES?

Yes, up to 10 pairs of eyeglasses can be ordered at a time. Each additional pair of eyeglasses must be added individually (one at a time) even if it is identical to the original. The quantity in the cart cannot be modified to add additional pairs; however, the quantity can be adjusted to remove eyeglass items prior to checkout.

The frames available online are unique to Costco.com and are not available to be ordered at the warehouse.

No, only complete eyeglasses can be ordered online.

Yes, non-prescription clear and sunglass lenses are available for purchase with all available frames on Costco.com. Choose ’No Prescription’ when selecting your Single Vision type.

WHAT TREATMENTS AND/OR OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE ON LENSES?

The following treatments are included on all prescription and non-prescription eyeglasses:

  • Anti-Reflective and Bluelight Filter Treatment.
  • UV filters that block harmful UVA and UVB lightwaves.
  • All lenses are scratch resistant.

Additional add-ons include:

  • Clear and Transitions (light adaptive) lenses with a Hi-Index 1.60 lens material.
  • Satin finish edge polish is an available upgrade for all lenses.

Upgrade options include (for an additional charge):

  • Hi-Index 1.67 ultra thin lenses.
  • Blue, Silver, or Gold Flash Mirror is an available upgrade for prescription and non-prescription polarized lenses.

Costco.com currently offers only single vision and non-prescription lenses. However, the Optical Department within your local Costco Warehouse may be able to assist with ordering eyeglasses with BAL or Balance, bifocals, or progressive lenses.

HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY NEW PRESCRIPTION EYEGLASSES?

It is recommended to clean the eyeglasses with warm water and an eyeglass cleaning solution, then blot the lenses dry with the included microfiber cloth.

CAN I SPLIT THE PAYMENT BETWEEN MY FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA) AND A DIFFERENT CARD?

No, Costco.com does not offer the option to split the payment between more than one method, unless the second method of payment is a Costco Shop Card. The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card can be used as payment like any other credit or debit card that is accepted on Costco.com.

DOES COSTCO ACCEPT VISION INSURANCE?

Unfortunately, Costco.com does not accept vision insurance; however, vision insurance may be accepted within the Optical Department in your local Costco Warehouse. You may also contact your insurance provider to inquire about possible reimbursem*nt for your online purchase.

Costco has a 100% member satisfaction guarantee. If the prescription eyeglasses are unsatisfactory for any reason, you may return them to the Optical Department in your local Costco Warehouse for a repair, replacement, or refund.

DOES COSTCO.COM OFFER EXPEDITED DELIVERY FOR PRESCRIPTION EYEGLASSES?

No, Costco.com does not offer expedited delivery on prescription eyeglasses at this time.

The estimated delivery time is approximately 7-10 business days from the time of order including manufacturing. The eyeglasses are manufactured in the U.S. by Costco’s Optical Labs using the latest technology. Manufacturing cannot begin until your prescription has been provided.

Once the order ships, an automated email containing the tracking information will be sent. The order can also be tracked through the tab of your Costco.com account.
