What is the alternative to NX Studio? ›

NX Studio is Nikon's new software editing suite, enabling you to browse, process and edit still images and movies. ViewNX-i was designed primarily for viewing and sorting images, with only limited RAW image-processing capabilities.

To speed up NX during your edits for a particular photo, in the Edit List, under 'Develop' / 'Camera Settings', you will find 'Noise Reduction'. Uncheck to turn off noise reduction for the photo you are editing.

Compatible with both Mac and Windows-based computers, NX Studio integrates the image viewing features of ViewNX-i and processing/editing features of Capture NX-D into one significant piece of software – and it's free to download!

Do I need to have a Nikon camera to use Nikon NX Studio? Nikon NX Studio will only work with Nikon RAW files. RAW formats from Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, and others will not work, and neither will universal RAW formats like DNG. However, the program works just fine with JPEG images.

In Capture NX and NX2, according to nx101.com, while there is no built-in watermarking functionality, you can "fake" your way to a watermark by using the brush tool to draw a watermark, then blend it to your photo. You can then save the steps as a custom action so you could apply it to any other photos.
