He was a crusader when he was part of the Order [Canon,here].
He isaround 40 y/o more or less. He doesn’t know for sure because he doesn’t know what age he was when theelves took him in. That’s why he always says his age as multiples offive: 40, 45, 50.
He doesn’t have much body hair in general, he is hairless on the chest. [confirmed by obvious inspection of his concept art and official pictures. During the first version of the game, human models were hairless too.]
He doesn’t hate cats. [Confirmed by Larian despite his attitude to the black cat in-game.]
He looks older because the hard life he had been living since he left the Elves.
His firstgrey hairs appeared when he was too young, during the first days ofwar. The stress of combat has been adding more and more grey hairs tohis sideburns and beard.
He hateshydrosophy school. Water-based spells leave an astringent and toofresh scent that irritates Ifan’s sensitive nose. He tends to sneezea lot when those spells are performed on him broadly.
He smellsto aromatic herbs due to the ones he always hides in his clothes. [Canon? I don’t know what’s the smell of “storm” or “Earth”, lol]
Source is emotion-related, therefore Afrit manifestation is also related to Ifan’s emotions. In normal, stable situations, Afrit appears like a normal wolf, but when Ifan is furious, the wolf takes a form closer to a spectral demon; his fur is made of flames of source, and his eyes glow in red, contrasting with his green-source fur.
He speakselven language. [Canon]
Like mosthumans raised among elves, he can perform a ritual to honour an Elvenlife [such humans are called Dhaleram]. It requires the elf to bealive and willingly to share their memories, a deep level ofintimacy, and Elven language to cast a spell that carves part of their memories into the human mind.
This magicbelongs to the family of spells related to “control mind”, so it can’t beused many times on a same human because weakens their natural mentalresistance, making them prone to demon possession.
This effect is the reason why Source Vampirism and the presence of Rhalic in his mind made him lost control a couple of times when he realized what Alexander and Lucian had truly done. He can’t cope very well with the Hunger that Source Vampirism brings.
When Ifanwas a child, he wanted to be an elf [it was only natural considering hewas the only human in the Elven city]. He always emulated them, evenin aspects he could not understand, such as licking friends to sharememories.
Hishonesty develops naturally due to the Elven habit of licking. There is no need for lying in the Elven community, because the truth is always of easy access: they can find it with a mere lick.
He resents his“useless” tongue. In intimacy, he doesn’t hold back his lick habit.
Becausehis upbringing, he always commits easier with elves than humans. And therefore, his romantic relationships tend to be long.
Elves are a polyamorous community, therefore Ifan has an open mind toward this matter. He is not particularly into it, considering he can’t fall in love easily, but given the case, he would not complain.
His elven mother, Melati, had two husbands.
When heenlisted to the Order, he left aside many Elven habits [mainly the one of licking]. This affectedhis ability to connect to other races for a while. He missed allthose Elven aspects deeply. Hence, his relationship with his future wife developedquickly, considering she was the only one who truly understood him.
He had an Elven wife called Nueleth. She was born under the full moon [livelyones, generous, and high-spirited]. She was also intense and daring, always leading the relationship. And Ifan loved that.
In intimacy, Ifan enjoys to be under the power of his partner [kind of canon, Larian writer confirmed in discord that he may be into femdom.]
Nueleth wasone of the highest rank paladins in the Order working close to Lucianbefore and during the war [when the Divine Order allowed non-humans in their ranks].
Theirwedding followed Elven and Human traditions. [Human tradition withrings, Elven tradition with a soul-mark ritual on the bark/skin].
She diedon duty in the Holy Mountain, protecting a town from Black Ringattacks, a couple of years before the Deathfog bombs.
Ifancould not recover her remains to be honoured in Elven fashion. So hekept her memories as fresh as possible, using his wedding ring in oneof his many necklaces as a permanent reminder of her. After theDeathfog, he became a drudanae addict for a long time, recovering from it afterjoining the Lone Wolves. [Half-canon, he was an addict during the Alpha phase of the game.]
He had a toxic and violent relationship with an Elven man during that time. That relationship lasted 7 years, it left many scars on his body.
He alwayshad a thing for Elven women and men. Relationships with them are easier to establish and always mean an honestarrangement for both sides.
That’s why he gets along with Sebille almost immediately. In fact, Sebille and Ifan are a total Bromance. They talk each other in Elven language, make weird jokes than only they get, drink together, and play dice. By the end of the game they treat each other like siblings [they share not only the Elven aspect but also the outlaw background].
Sebille and Ifan train together at the highest level of their abilities. Most of the time Sebille is who wins. Ifan only wins if he cheats with Afrit.
Like canines, he is carried away by his emotions when he loves someone and likes to nuzzle their neck, hug them tightly, and lick them [especially because his Elven background], but he tends to wait for his partner to engage into more intimate contact. He likes to be lead on those matters.
For him,survival is everything. Life is more important than anything else. [Canon, Ifan-tag dialogue]
The Player-Godwoken means everything to Ifan, whether in a friendship or in a romance. He follows a path of redemption if he meets them, otherwise, he keeps being a Lone Wolf to the end. This is canon: [here] and [here] and [here].
He tends to avoid having his own home, but has not problem in making his partner’s house his own. [here]
He has a complicated relationship with Gareth. Gareth’s blind faith made Ifan dislike him to the point to kill him if the player-godwoken is not present for him to control his inner wolf [here].
He doesn’tlike scholars. He doesn’t hate them either. He is just bitter aboutthem. Scholars from the Order were those who helped to plan most ofthe failed strategies against the Black Ring. Scholars were alsothose who worked on and developed the Deathfog. Later, MagisterScholars were also the responsible of the creation of gheists andsilent monks. For him, every knowledge researched by scholars seemsto bring death and chaos. After what happened with the Deathfog andAlexander, this perception was more radical.
